What is Powder Coating?

Powder coating is a process of coating a surface in which the powder material is applied using an electrostatic or compressed air method. The applied powder is then heated until it melts, after which it flows to form a smooth film. This dries to a firm, durable finish. This process is very resistant to scratches, cracking, peeking, UV rays and rust.

After the powder is applied to the surface, it enters a curing oven. During its intake of heat, the powder melts to create a continuous flow, and once it has reached the cure temperature, the heat latent hardeners become active and the curing reaction begins. Once the film has been 100% cured, it becomes tough and impact resistant. Failure to 100% cure the surface will result in lack of adhesion. This is why at One Stop Coatings, we stress on keeping our oven and burners fully maintained. Powder coating can be cured at different levels of heat, ranging from 150 degrees to 200 degrees.

What are the colour choices?

We carry a large selection of Ral classic colours and bs Colours. If we don’t have it in stock we can normally get it in for the next day.

Yes, we offer pick-up and delivery services using our XXXLWB Ford Transit for your convenience.

How big of an item can you coat?

We can handle items up to 7 metres long and 3 metres high.
